From 2017 to 2025, I traveled across the U.S. exploring national parks and seasonal work opportunities. My work prior to travel tended towards large scale, textured paintings that bordered the sculptural. With the limitations of frequent travel and a single backpack’s worth of belongings, this period of time challenged my work to the confines of smaller scales and depended on the immediate environment for both inspiration and supplies.
